Hi, I’m Leilani!

That’s pronounced lay-LAW-knee for anyone who’s never heard (or in this case, read) it before.

This is my blog, which is mostly about my two girls, Eleanor and Isabel. They’re just so awesome, I figured I’d share them with the world.

I began blogging in August 2010, three months after Isabel was born. At the time I was working as a Special Education Paraeducator, a position I held for over 10 years until I resigned in 2011 to become a stay-at-home mom. I was also working towards my bachelor’s degree at a local university and finally graduated this past spring.

Soleil Selene is a parenting blog focusing on kids, life and inspiration. It documents my journey through motherhood, with personal stories about everyday life, and articles about parenting. Kid Style posts feature the trendy and adorable outfits worn by Eleanor and Isabel, along with information on where each item was, or can be purchased. Toddler Tips and Picks posts share fun, educational, and practical toys for toddlers, as well as parenting tips. You can also follow my Weight Loss journey, as I work to lose over 70 lbs. Who knows, I may inspire you to make the switch to a more active and healthier lifestyle!

Anyway, pull up a chair -you may wanna dust those crumbs off it first- and take a look around. Don’t mind the toys scattered all over the floor. I promise I’ll clean it right before Paul comes home from work. I always do.
