Superhero Water Bottle Labels
May 16, 2013 · 25 Comments
I am very detail-oriented and decided to add little superhero-themed touches to the girls’ upcoming party. Since our main beverage at this shindig is going to be water, why not make cute little water bottle labels?
We loaded up on Kirkland water bottles at Costco and I used a this Superhero scrapbook kit to create the labels in Photoshop. You can download a pdf of the labels by clicking here.
I used photo paper to print out the labels, as regular cardstock completely washed out the bright pops of color. You can use a regular gluestick to apply the labels to the bottles, but I love to use Zips or Zots, which are simply adhesive dots or strips. Also, if you have a paper-cutter, it would help keep your cuts straight and even, as opposed to using a regular pair of scissors.
In retrospect, I probably wouldn’t have used the yellow font for the word ‘superhero’ or for the number ’2′. It just doesn’t seem to stand out against the red letters and gets lost in the pictures.
But overall, I am happy with how they turned out. They’re pretty cute and the girls really like them.
Scenes from Mother’s Day 2013

It’s hard to believe that next Monday my two little girls will be celebrating yet another birthday. Eleanor will be turning 4 and Isabel will be turning 3. How is it possible that 4 years have passed by since I first became a mom? It feels so surreal.
Here are some pictures from an ordinary day that just so happened to be Mother’s Day.
I had been craving French toast for the longest time and requested we eat somewhere with good French Toast. Well after driving around to several breakfast spots and seeing lines out the door, we decided to hit up our favorite bagel shop.
Afterwards, we drove a ridiculous ways to a mall we visit every once in a blue moon. The girls had a blast playing in the kid’s area and riding some rides.
While we didn’t do anything ‘special’ for Mother’s Day, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. Watching the girls smile, laugh and play fills my heart with loads of warmth and love.
Motherhood has taught me to embrace the ordinary.
27 Week Bumpdate
May 12, 2013 · 27 Comments
On Friday I hit 27 weeks. It seems like this pregnancy is really starting to fly by.
The pelvic pain is still there. I’ve noticed that if I don’t sleep with a huge, puffy pillow between my legs at night, I wake up with extremely bad pelvic pain.
I’ve also noticed that my maternity shirts are getting tighter and tighter. Ack!
I was supposed to complete my 4-hr glucose test this past week, but I lost my lab form. So tomorrow it’s back to my OB’s office to pick up a new one and hopefully take the test before the end of the week.
Thanks to everyone who wished me a Happy Mother’s Day. It was a beautiful day spent with Paul and the girls. Hopefully yours was just as fabulous!
