Week 7 on Medifast – I Cheated

This morning I stepped on the scale and was somewhat surprised at what I saw. I’m going to be honest. Last night we attended an advanced screening of Rise of the Guardians and I ate some popcorn and sipped on some ICEE. I really just didn’t have time to eat dinner. I was panelist for a Twitter event an hour before the screening and had to jet out of the house as soon as it was done, and head straight for the theater. I had every intention of grabbing a Medifast bar and bringing a water bottle, but being in a rush, I completely forgot.

And if you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw that I had sushi one night this week for dinner. I didn’t pig out, but I definitely indulged. So I certainly wasn’t expecting to see great numbers on the scale this week.

I don’t know why I cheated on my diet, especially since I have been so committed all this time. I’m a little disappointed, but I’m choosing not to dwell on it. If I think about it too much, I’ll revert to my old way of thinking, which sounds something like this: Well, I already cheated twice this week, so what’s one more day?

I definitely don’t want to do that. I think my loss this week is enough to keep me motivated to stay on plan and to continue being successful, even with Thanksgiving being next week. I hope!

Good for you for avoiding the “all or nothing” mentality. that’s one of my diet downfalls.

One of mine, too. :\

I try to take it day by day, sometimes even meal by meal.

I think it’s okay to cheat, just as long as you continue forward.

It is okay once in awhile, the important thing is to not give up. I need to take my own advice!

Don’t beat yourself up too much for cheating, just keep that in mind the next time you want to cheat – remind yourself that you already had your cheat day! :)

You lost weight so ROCK on! I think it’s virtually impossible to not indulge every now and then. It’s just getting back on the wagon that’s important.

You are doing great. Don’t beat yourself up about cheating a bit. I went to Disney this week and ate whatever I wanted, but still had a loss. It all works out in the end.

You still had a loss… that IS awesome! I am guilty of the same mentality. And am diligent right now as I struggle through my 90-day challenge.

I tend to have that same problem of a misstep completely derailing me, but I’m glad you’re fighting back against it. I hope the movie was good though!
