If you live in the SF Bay Area and have visited Half Moon Bay, chances are you’ve passed by Lemos Farm along highway 92. Our family has been there a handful of times, and when Groupon had a deal for unlimited day passes for a family of four for only $20, I couldn’t pass it up.
Lemos Farm is a kid-friendly farm that features pony rides, train rides, hay rides, laser tag and other activities. During the holidays, the farm transforms to a more festive atmosphere with a pumpkin patch and haunted house during Halloween, and a Christmas Tree farm and a Holiday Wonderland during Christmas. There are bounce houses, a playground for little ones, and picnic areas throughout, making it wonderful venue for kids’ birthday parties. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend taking your kids there for the day.
Last Sunday, Paul and I decided to redeem our Groupon. Well, in all honesty, it was the last day to redeem our Groupon before it expired, so we really had no choice but to take the girls.
The girls started off on the rocking horses, and moved on to the ponies.
They checked out the tractor…
…and fed the goats.
Then, we hopped on the train and scoped out the scenery.
They begged to ride the covered wagon.
We went on the hay ride, but quite frankly, we should’ve passed it up. It was too crowded and there was no room for the kids to play with the hay.
Then we bid farewell to the farm and headed back home.
The girls had a blast and I got some great pictures. I can’t wait to take them back during Halloween and Christmas!

I love this Farm! When we lived in Redwood City, it was a go to spot. I have great pictures of my first 2 kiddos riding ponies, picking pumpkins and having a blast. Thanks for bring back those great memories.
How fun!
Wow, it looks like you all had an amazing time! I sure wish we had something like this here in Las Vegas.
I am so glad that I came across your post. You are the first and ONLY person I know to capture calm images of Lemos Farm! My son is going there on a field trip and I want to capture some images for his school. Anything that I have seen shows a place packed full of people and kids and it just evokes chaos! If you don’t mind my asking, what lenses did you take with you and use? I am trying to gauge my load, since I will also be hauling my 6 month old (probably in an Ergo).
Thank you! I believe I brought my 50mm f/1.4 that day. We went very early on a Sunday and arrived right when the farm opened. Within hours it became packed, so I’m glad I was able to capture these images before the chaos ensued.
My husband was born in San Francisco but moved to Oregon when he was just one year. We’ve been back there together many times but we haven’t taken our children. That farm sounds like something we all would love to experience.
Thanks for sharing such great photos of such beautiful girls!
You know, I must admit that we’ve never been there. I’m so glad you shared such fab photos so we know what to expect when we do visit. Your girls looked surprisingly comfortable behind that tractor wheel!
Looks like they were having a blast!!!
