Now that the girls have moved out of our bedroom, it’s time to reconfigure our space. We used to have two toddler beds in our room, a tall chest with an old TV on top blocking our tiny window, and even a second chest hidden away in our closet. We finally bought ourselves an actual bed frame a few months back, since our mattress used to lay directly on the floor.
Since I’m pretty adamant about making the girls’ room “the girls’ room” where they can sleep and play, I’ll have to move my little ‘office space’ into our bedroom. Here’s what I had in mind:
- HEMNES 6-Drawer Chest, IKEA
- HEMNES Bed Frame, IKEA
- Plum Vine Bedding, Bed Bath and Beyond
- HEMNES 3-Drawer Chest, IKEA
- LEKSVIK Desk, IKEA
Since we already owned the bed frame and bedding, I used my Avery winnings to purchase the two chests and desk. Hooray for unexpected money!
Paul and I are already in the process of our bedroom makeover. Stay tuned to see how it turns out!

I’m so happy with how it looks so far. Still a work in progress, but it’s getting there!
I’m hellbent on making over our room once we move this Fall. Our room is a hot mess. Absolutely nothing matches. It looks like a college frat house threw up in there, lol! We coslept and at one point had the toddler bed in there too. It’s just what worked. I want to do something that says “oasis” even if we’ll have the new baby in there with us. Your design concept is lovely!
Through inception. I planted the idea in their head that sleeping in their own room would be cool, lol. Maybe I’ll write a more in-depth post about it. If I do, I let you know. Thanks for stopping by! I haven’t ‘seen’ you in a while.
I like this bedroom design concept. The design is simple yet refreshing to the eyes.
