I’m gonna let you in on a little secret. If you’ve been reading this blog, you’ve seen me refer to the girls as Soleil and Selene. Well guess what? Those aren’t their names.
::Gasp::
Shocker, I know.
Well, that’s not completely accurate, either. Those are their middle names and I put them together to come up with my lovely blog name.
I’ve been wanting to reveal their real names for the longest time. I think their names are just absolutely beautiful and I often find myself having to go back and edit posts to conceal their true identity. But from this point on, I plan to refer to them by their first names.
So without further ado, the girls names…
Whew! Feels good to just put that out there. Aren’t they so pretty? Maybe one day I’ll share how we decided on them.
But for now, tell me if you use your kid(s)’s real names on your blog, or if you use an alias, and why?

So pretty! How special that you are sharing their real names! I LOVE their middle names.
I use my kids real names on my blog. I never thought to use an alias although sometimes I think I should have but it’s too late now. I don’t want to use their middle names on the blog though. I have thought about it and I LOVE their middle names especially their Hawaiian names but for now I will keep them to myself. =)
omg! I had no idea but I love their names!
Those are GORGEOUS names! I don’t have any kids yet, but I usually don’t write other people’s names on my blog. I usually just write their initials. I don’t know why…
Huh, I totally thought those were their names!
But i love their 1st names too! Such cute pics!
Well, for me, I’ve said my daughter’s names plenty of times on the blog so it’s no big secret, but for the most part I refer to them as BG1 & BG2 (Baby Girl 1&2), lol. Btw, I haven’t visited in awhile & I have to say, I LOVE the new design! So pretty! Although, your blog designs are always pretty
Aww, thanks! I remember when you used to tweet BG1 and BG2. It took me a second to figure out what you were talking about. Lol.
Btw, I *just* stopped watching The Secret Life a few weeks ago. This season is just all over the place, so you’re not missing out if you haven’t seen it.
Well that definitely surprised me. I always thought those were their names. I use my kids real names on my blog. I would have liked to use nicknames instead but it’s too late now. Lol.
I seriously get anxiety over this! I am terrified that my son’s (or daughter’s) future employer is going to google his name twenty years from now and not hire him because of something I posted when he was thirteen. He’s only three now so I have some time to figure out a solution…but seriously! I never though to use a nickname until it was too late.
I think I might lay off the pictures and start using their first initials only as they get older…but then again, maybe not.
I’m sure in twenty years or so we’ll see a segment on 60 Minutes about how mommy bloggers ruined their kids’ lives by writing about them and posting pics of them in their diapers all over the internet…ha!
And by the way, your girls’ names are gorgeous! Love!
Gorgeous names for gorgeous girls!
leilani did i know this? i’m trying to remember, but i don’t think i did?
i LOVE both the girls’ first AND middle names.
you know i use wilder and story’s names on the blog…i just really love their names and we haven’t had anyone stalk us cuz of my blog or anything.
thanks for sharing!
I don’t think I ever told you. The only person that knew in the bloggy world is Tricia. But maybe you’ve seen me post their names on FB a few times.
Their first and their middle names are both beautiful
I don’t have kids yet.
I had no idea, but both their first and middle names are as lovely as they appear to be
ummm I totally didn’t know this. I use Mason and Elena’s real names! But I never use the DH’s real name, only his initial. Between his name and my name all you would need to do is search it and you’d land directly on my blog if I used it!
I love both the blog names and their real names. I think you just have a talent of selecting names that coordinate well.
They have such pretty names.
Beautiful names! I use an alias for my son.
Very beautiful names, I use part of my kids real names.
Beautiful names!
