The Girls’ Superhero-Themed Birthday Party

Warning: This is a pic-heavy post. No really, it is. Over 40 photos. Let’s hope it doesn’t take forever to load!

Yesterday was the girls’ birthday. Yes, they have the same birthday! And no, they are not twins. They’re exactly one year apart. Wanna find out how that happened? Read here.

On Sunday, we celebrated with a superhero-themed party and it was a blast! The weather was absolutely beautiful (thank God!) and we were up bright and early prepping for the party.

I may be a bit biased, but it was one of the funnest parties I’ve ever been to! The girls had the best time and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day!

28 Week Bumpdate

I am SuperMom! Or at least that’s who I dressed up as today.

28 Weeks pregnant

To be honest, I went to sleep at 4 am last night (or shall I say this morning) because today was the girls’ superhero-themed birthday party. The permanent smiles on their faces throughout the day made the hustle and bustle of prepping all day yesterday worth it!

I was up at 7am, skipped breakfast, had a few bites for lunch, half a burrito for dinner and I have no idea why I’m wide awake at 10pm.

Baby Parquer is kicking up a storm right now and I’m not really looking forward to sleeping. I have the worst pelvic pain while I’m lying down that I actually dread bedtime.

This past week I completed my 3-hr glucose test and wanted to yack from the sugary concoction. I have an appointment with my OB this week and I’ll find out my results. Keeping my fingers crossed that I passed!

For those of you wondering how the party went, it was a HUGE success! I will try and post pictures soon.

Tomorrow is the girls’ actual birthday and I plan to shower them with my love and affection. If I’m not too beat by the end of the day, I’ll try and edit their birthday party pics.

Superhero Water Bottle Labels

I am very detail-oriented and decided to add little superhero-themed touches to the girls’ upcoming party. Since our main beverage at this shindig is going to be water, why not make cute little water bottle labels?

SuperHero Water Bottle Labels

We loaded up on Kirkland water bottles at Costco and I used a this Superhero scrapbook kit to create the labels in Photoshop. You can download a pdf of the labels by clicking here.

I used photo paper to print out the labels, as regular cardstock completely washed out the bright pops of color. You can use a regular gluestick to apply the labels to the bottles, but I love to use Zips or Zots, which are simply adhesive dots or strips. Also, if you have a paper-cutter, it would help keep your cuts straight and even, as opposed to using a regular pair of scissors.

In retrospect, I probably wouldn’t have used the yellow font for the word ‘superhero’ or for the number ’2′. It just doesn’t seem to stand out against the red letters and gets lost in the pictures.

But overall, I am happy with how they turned out. They’re pretty cute and the girls really like them.
